A late Merry Christmas to all and to all a Happy New Year.

Summer has definitely landed in Tennessee.  Can you say "humid!"?  Hot, sticky outdoors and rockin.  It was great to be with all you crazy Goodlettsvillians.  See you next year again.  And maybe I can share some of that shade you were enjoying.

Life is full.  Jake is a year old now, the girls are 3 and 5, we just moved into the new house, Kevin's relocating the studio so we can start our next recording project, and on and on it goes.  Locals, see you at the Bluebird in June.

Yee haw!  Well, our little bundle of joy has arrived!   Jacob Michael was born on February 18th and he is a beautiful healthy baby boy.   Kevin and I and the rest of our extended families are so thrilled to have him here.   For a while there, it felt like the day would never come!  He is so sweet and gentle and he is an excellent sleeper!  Yipee!  I was glad to see that tradition was holding true.  So far all of our kids have been good sleepers.  Lucky for mom!  Anyhow,  all is well on the Lawson homefront.  We are living in a two bedroom apartment while we build a new house.  I know what you're thinking: "ooh, that's gotta be tight with three kids!"  And you're absolutely right!   But we are loving every minute of it.  (for the most part!)  We have everything we need and life is definitely simpified a bit.  The building process is exciting and stressful, as many of you know or have heard from someone else you know.   So, if Kevin is bald the next time you see our show - you know why!  Let's hope if anyone goes bald, it's him....not me!  So, for now our family is healthy and getting into the new swing of things with another added angel.

I'm looking forward to getting  into our musical groove again.  We are really happy to be coming back to the Bluebird Cafe on Thursday May 20th.  And I hope to see alot of you there.  I have missed singing out and am so excited to let the passion fly!

I hope that all of you have a happy Easter.   Don't get sick from eating too much candy!  That Easter bunny has quite a sweet tooth.  Be safe and love on your families whenever possible.  Time goes fast and life as we know it is much shorter than we think it is.  I am amazed at the gift of life and I am constantly trying to grasp for everything it has to offer.  Not materially.  But more so finding the depth of joy and wisdom that it brings.   Children are a physical reminder of the depth of the miracle that happens right before our eyes.  And we can miss it.  All we have to do is look away.  Or we can look into the eyes of life and choose to draw from the well of eternity.  Wow, life is beautiful isn't it?  Take care until next time.  I hope to see you at the Bird!

Blessings,

Heather

Okay, I'm a little bit embarrassed by the date above this note!  I have no excuse other than life happening and the fact that I am slightly computer illiterate!  Please forgive me for not keeping you up to date on what's happening.  On a personal note first: All is going well at the Lawson home.  I have been in a "semi lethargic" mode for the last few weeks, due to the fact that we are expecting our third child!  Exciting and exhausting!   If you think of me, please remember to pray that all goes well.  It's good to understand just how fragile life is.  Kevin and I are thrilled at the possibility of adding another life to our already amazing family!

On to the fun of what I get to do!  Chattanooga was a kick!  Everyone on the business end treated us very kindly and with such respect.  The actual show turned out well and the numbers were great for the stage that we were on.  Thank you so much for coming and for your support and love of "Heather Lawson" music!  You made the night come alive with your energy and presence.  Next time, I wanna be on the BIG STAGE!  So, all of you help me put the pressure on Chattanooga to get us there!  Then we can really rock the joint!

For all of you Nashvillians and those of you who traveled through to come to the Bluebird Cafe: yeehaw!!  What a great night that was.   It was such on honor for me to bring up some of my dearest friends and share the stage with them.  Britten Newbill is one that you will need to watch for in the near future.  His is off to the Berkley School Of Music in Boston this coming year.   And he will be taking his place soon in the music world.  He is a huge talent and even better is his heart of gold.  To add to that list of talent was: Matt Newbill (Britten's dad), Don Kimbrell, and Jaron Eaton.  All of who are dear friends of mine.  They are my family away from home  (that being Seattle where all of my family still live.)  As well as some of the most unrecognized talent that I know!  So, it was truly an honor and a blast for me to share the evening with them on a new angle.  From the stage instead of the audience!   I am doing my best to get pictures put up on this site from that show.  Be patient!  As I know you already have.  I'll be taking it a little slow these next few weeks, but not for too long!  Mostly benefit concerts, and small venues.   We will be back at the Bluebird in the first week of October.  So, mark you calendars for that ahead of time.  They were shutting people out at our last show.   So, make your reservations the week ahead!  As always, Chris Kent our bass player was perfection. We appreciate his friendship and his amazing talent!  He's insane-is he not!?

I look forward to more wonderful times with all of you and please keep up with the emails and comments, etc...  I do read them and they are great!   I will try to keep you updated more regularly too!  Only as I have something to share.  Oh!  By the way, check out Sandi Patti's new CD.  Kevin has a cut on it called, "Wonderful One."  As well as the latest Worship Choral books have an arrangement done by Robert Sterling.   It's a great worship song.   Be watching for the song,"You Are King" sung by myself and recorded at Cedarstone, to be out soon on the Time Life Music "Worship Together" series.  It will be coming soon on volume 4 of that edition.  Also another tune released in the Choral Worship books, written by Kevin called, "Heaven Awaits" will be released as one of the few Anthems for 2004.  So, there is lots going on.  Just not always things that are seen in a show!   Take care all of you and blessings on you and your families!  I look forward to our next big event!  Keep loving music!!!  It feels and it heals!!

Thanks so much for all of the inspiring emails.  It is such a thrill to know that the passion and truth that I work so hard at communicating, is being received.  What an honor it is for me to have the pleasure of marking something positive in the lives of my listeners.  Whether it be laughter, thought provoking tears, truth, or the reality of someone elses pain: compassion.  I am truly blessed to do what I do.  Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and feelings on what you've heard thus far.  I look forward to more great music, and meeting more great fans, and hearing more great stories about you: the listener and receiver.  Please keep staying in touch, those of you who do.  And I hope to hear a mess of you in the crowd on June 7th, 2003 in Chattanooga!  I can't wait!   The band and I are gonna rock the joint!  Blessings to you all from me!

Hello Chattanooga!  You all are treating me so well.  I'm looking forward to this upcoming ABC special on Good Morning Chattanooga.  I'll be watching from Seattle somehow!  Go technology.   Riverbend 2003 is going to be a blast.  See you there.

Douglas Corner was great Saturday night.   It was great meeting so many new people.  We raised a bunch of support for the Salvation Army emergency relief Fund, and we all had such a quality night with Billy, Joe and Dee.  What a kick to hear "I don't need no rockin' chair" from the source himself (Billy Yates) and be able to join in on that classic George Jones' tune.

Happy New Year.  Life keeps on flying by.  My kids wonderfully remind me daily.  Looking forward to playing in Nashville again this Saturday with songwriting greats like Billy Yates and Joe Pisapia.   Dee Allen put together this benefit for Salvation Army.  Hope to see you there.  Douglas Corner is such a cool vibey room.  Great time, great music,   and a really great cause.

Getting ready for this weekend coming up.   Looking forward to this string of raw and unplugged sets.  Third and Lindsley is always a blast.  I heard that Lightning 100 is playing some of the record on John Larson's Crossroads show.  A lot is happening.  Looks like next summer is shaping up and will have some exciting touring.  Just keeping it all in perspective.   And keeping the most important things in life ... important.

Another great night at the Bluebird.   So many of you were so kind.  We'll be back there on 11/3.  This unplugged thing is going so well.  I'm enjoying the raw-ness of it all. I think we'll do this for a while.  I feel like I can connect so genuinely without other distractions.  Oh I love my band and all the energy they bring, ... and we'll keep playing, but this season feels so right just having time to get to know my audience, and having time to let them see me.

Home.  It's always good to be back.   And wow was it a blast having time back in Seattle.  We'll head out there again in November for a private Microsoft event and some other stuff.

Nothing has changed at the old Alma Mater.  It all looks the same!  Yep, I actually went back to Redmond High school and did a guest appearance for the student body in the Homecoming Kick off Assembly and Pep Rally.  I still can't believe that it's been 12 years since I graduated.  And now to return and play there and see so many faculty members that I remember so well.  I look forward to coming back and doing more to help support the education system that helped me so much.

2nd Borders show was today in Puyallup Washington.  It was a pleasure meeting you all.  Thanks for coming out and joining in the fun.  It was so nice to have a more relaxing day and have the time to hang out with a number of you and get the chance to meet you and get to know you a little bit.  I look forward to seeing you all again sometime.

Tonight I had the honor of opening for the amazing Wynonna.  Her music has always amazed me with the passion and artistry she pours into it.  What a kick to be able to play for all 8000 of you screaming fans who were there to welcome me and be so warm and receptive to me.  It was truly a pleasure to be able to share that moment with you.

Began the Borders Books and Music tour tonight.  The Redmond store was the first of 5 here in Washington state.  The whole night was great.  The place was packed and the store managers were so pleased with the turnout that they've already invited me back to play a special event as there featured artist.  So many wonderful people came out for the show.  There was a real sense of family and celebration of life.  Thanks Borders for such a warm reception.

Returning to the great northwest.  Looking forward to returning my home turf.  After years of developing this music that so reflects my heart and soul,  the time has finally come to take it back to the region I love and know so well.
